Moraira's roots as a fishing community are still present with the weekly fish market a popular attraction. It also has some of the best Moscatel grapes in the region, used to make the local Moscatel wine at the Bodega in Teulada, only 6 kilometers from Moraira.
Beaches: Moraira's coastline is over 4 kilometers long, having three blue flag beaches, L'Ampolla, Platgetes, and El Portet, as well as the smaller coves of L'Andrago, Punta Estrella, Cap Blanc, and La Cala. The easiest way to look at beaches is that Playa´s are sandy beaches, whilst Cala´s are not.
Restaurants : There are so many options in Moraira and Teulada, you are spolit for choice.
Teulada has lots of "Spanish" eateries, such as "La Cultural" and "Las Vegas." whilst in Moraira you are spolit for choice with so many options to suit every taste and budget.
If you want to try something different, go to the Costa Blanca Bar on Calle del Dr. Calatayud, where you can sit outside and watch the world go by while eating some of Moraira's best-priced tapas. Moraira offers a diverse assortment of cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Spanish, Pizzeria, and Italian, with something to suit every budget.
In the summer, Moraira is predominantly a family resort with numerous fiestas and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Golf Courses: The nearest golf course in Moraira is "Golf Ifach" in San Jaime which has a 9-hole course, or you can nip over to La Sella Golf Club and Resort in La Xara, and choose from three different courses. The "Llebeig," a 9-hole south-facing course with sweeping views of the Montgó and surrounded by lovely pine trees. The "Gregal," a flatter 9-hole course with challenging water hazards, or the "Mestral," a north-facing 9-hole course with breathtaking views of the sea. There is also a 9-hole course in Javea, or a 1.5-hour trip from Moraira, you can visit the Golf Courses in Villamartin.
Shopping: Moraira is full of small boutiques and tourist shops, but if you're looking for something a little more, head to the Centro Commercial in Ondarra, which also has a major Carrefour supermarket, as well as a Sports and Activities store, Decathlon, or 1.5 hours away you can find the beautiful Zenia Boulevard, an American style open air shopping mall
Education: Moraira and Teulada both have junior-infant schools, though the secondary school, IES Teulada, is located in Teulada
There is also the option to attend a private school in the area, with Javea and Benitachell both being home to well known "International schools.

Medical: Spain has a fantastic public health service, with Moraira and Teulada each have their own Central Salud (Public) with an Emergency Clinic open 24 hours a day, the first port of call for minor injuries, however more serious injuries can be treated at the Denia Public Hospital, which has its own Emergency Care Unit.
If you want to have private health insurance then Teulada is also home to an IMED hospital, which also has an emergency clinic.
Supermarkets: There are a wealth of large supermarkets, Consum, Mercadona, Aldi, Carrefour, Pepe La Sal and Lidl, in Moraira and Teulada as well as smaller Butchers and Vegtable shops, though for really fresh produce there is nowhere better than the local markets, Moraira (Friday) Teulada (Wednesday) Benissa (Saturday).
Area : Moraira, on the coast, and Teulada, 6 kilometers inland, are the two pasrts of the municipality. Moraira, like Teulada, has escaped the ravages of mass tourism that have afflicted other towns, and it retains all of its attractions.
Most people fly into Alicante airport, only a 45 minute drive from Moraira, though you can also fly into Valencia, which is a little further away, around 1+ hour, depending on the traffic. Most people take the AP7, exit 63 at Benissa, which is about 10 minutes from Moraira.
Moraira's economy is now dependent on tourism and property for sale in Moraira, albeit there are no high-rise flats, only lovely villas, and the construction industry is highly regulated in terms of what can be developed. The Teulada-Moraira council created rules conserving the plentiful pine trees and limiting building heights to preserve the area's heritage, ensuring that the town keeps its natural beauty.
Moraira runs from San Jaime on the border of Benissa to El Portet and inland to Teulada, all of which are in separate zones: Cap Blanc, San Jaime, Moravit, el Pinar de L'Advocat, La Sabatera, El Portet, El Tesoro, Paichi, and Benimeit.
Moraira also boasts a marina with its own Club Nautico, where you can sit and watch the sunset over the sea with views of Calpe's Penon Ifach.
Property: Moraira has a wide range of property for sale, from large modern villas to more classic spanish style villas, apartments in the city center to small urbanisations of townhouses and bungalows (e.g. Moraira Park, Aldea Recreativa), with something to suit all budgets.
Climate: The World Health Organization has designated it as "environmentally ideal," with over 320 days of sunshine.
