The town (Municipality) of Benissa is located in Alicante Province in the Communidad of Valencia, only a 45-minute drive from Alicante airport. The town retains all of its charms, with a weekly open market, selling fruit, vegetables, cheese, and olives, also holding its own fiesta "Purissima Xiqueta", the patron saint of Benissa in April as well as is "Moors and Christians fiesta in June, plus many more. In the main square, you can find the smallest cathedral in Spain "Purissima Xiqueta", a tree-lined area with its own fountains, as well as a host of restaurants and bars. 

Away from the main town of Benissa, you can find 4km of coastline of Benissa, known as the Benissa Coastal, which stretches from Moraira to Calpe, where you can find many small coves, including La Fustera, La Cala de Advocat, Els Pinets, La Lobella, and Baladrar. The area of Les Basetes has its own small marina and a watersports center, where you can take part in sailing, SUP and scuba diving, as well as restaurants from where you can watch the sun go down to the Peñon d’Ifach in Calpe. In Summer many of the coves have "Chiringuitos" where you can sit and enjoy the setting sun with a meal and a drink. 

The Benissa Coastal also has a 9 hole golf course in San Jaime.
